စိတ်ဝင်စားစရာ အရောင်လေးတွေနဲ့ Idiom( အီဒီယမ် ) လေးများ
အရောင်လေးတွေမှာ ကိုယ်ပိုင်သကေ်တလေးတွေရှိတယ်ဆိုတာ သိကြတယ်မလား? ဒီနေ့မှာတော့ အရောင်လေးတွေကို အသုံးပြုပြီး ဖန်တီးထားတဲ့စိတ်ဝင်စားဖွယ် Idiom လေးတွေကို ဖော်ပြမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
(၁) White Lie – a small lie that is told to be polite or avoid hurting someone’s feelings.
အဖြူရောင်မုသား ပေါ့နော်။ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုအရသော်လည်းကောင်း၊ တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်နာကျင်ခံစားမှုမဖြစ်စေရအောင်သော်လည်းကောင်း ရည်ရွယ်ပြီး ပြောလိုက်ရတဲ့ အလိမ်အညာစကား ကို ဆိုလိုပါတယ်။
(၂) Black sheep – to be the outcast, odd one out, unlike the others
သိုးမည်း။ သူများတွေနဲ့မတူဘဲ အမြဲခွဲထွက်နေပြီး အူကြောင်ကြောင်ဆန်တဲ့လူတွေကို ပြောတာပါ။
(၃) Take the red eye – a late night flight that arrives early in the morning
တစ်ညလုံး လေယာဉ်စီးခဲ့ရပြီး မိုးလင်းခါနီးမှ ခရီးဆိုက်တာကို ပြောတဲ့အခါ ဒီ အီဒီယမ်လေးကို အသုံးပြုလို့ရပါတယ်။
(၄) Tickled pink – to be extremely pleased
အလွန်အကျူး ဝမ်းသာကျေနပ်ပီတိဖြာ တယ်ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ပါ။
(၅) Once in a blue moon – very rarely
ကြုံတောင့်ကြုံခဲ၊ ရှားရှားပါးပါး လို့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရပါတယ်။
(၆) Caught red-handed – to catch someone in the act of doing something
တစ်ခုခုခိုးလုပ်နေတာကို လူမိသွားတယ် ဆိုပြီး ပြောလိုတဲ့အခါ “ I’ve caught red-handed” လို့ အသုံးပြုနိုင်ပါတယ်။
(၇) Out of the blue – randomly, without warning, surprisingly
လုံးဝကို မမျှော်လင့်ထားဘဲ ဖြစ်ပျက်သွားတဲ့အကြောင်းပြောလိုတဲ့အခါ အသုံးပြုနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဥပမာ- He kissed me out of the blue.
(၈) Green thumb – to be skilled at gardening
လက်ဆိပ်ရှိတယ် ဆိုတဲ့အဓိပ္ပာယ်ပေါ့နော်။ အပင်တွေကို ဖြစ်မြောက်အောင် စိုက်ပျိုးနိုင်တယ် လို့ ဆိုလိုရင်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
(၉) Grey area – something that is unclear, undefined
သဲသဲကွဲကွဲ သတ်မှတ်လို့မရတဲ့ အရာမျိုး ကို ပြောလိုတဲ့အခါ အသုံးပြုနိုင်ပါတယ်။
(၁၀) Green with envy – to be very jealous, envious
မတရား မနာလိုဖြစ်တယ် လို့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရပါတယ်။
